Call for Workshop Proposals

The TIE 2018 Conference caters for a limited number of workshops on dedicated session topics. The aim of these workshops is to discuss work in progress and explore opportunities for new research related to a topic of interest complementary to those of the conference.

TIE 2018 will include two different workshops running alongside the main conference track. Proposals will be received in both of the following categories:

  • Informal “mini-Workshops”, focussing mainly on demonstrations of new technologies/techniques, including panel discussions and interactive activities. Presentations do not require the submission of full Conference/Workshop papers, only an Abstract.
  • Formal Workshops addressing topical technical issues of interest and built around presentations of peer-reviewed workshop papers in the specified TIE’18 format. The Workshop can have a schedule lasting up to a whole day.

An informal mini-Workshop proposal should contain:

  • Title of the workshop
  • A brief description of the specific technology, application or demonstration that the mini-workshop will address (150 – 300 words)
  • The reasons why the workshop is interesting and timely
  • A draft list of potential researchers/supporters who could contribute to the event
  • Commitment from proposer (and colleagues) to act as the organising committee
  • The maximum length of a mini-Workshop schedule will be 1.5 hours

A formal Workshop proposal should contain:

  • Title of the workshop (and acronym, if preferred)
  • A brief description of the specific technical issues that the workshop will address
  • The reasons why the workshop is interesting and timely
  • The length of the workshop (from half day to maximum full day)
